Happy New Year. I hope everyone had a great holiday however you celebrate.

This is my mini-newsletter that starts the year. I have exciting things planned this year as an author and I hope you do too.

EXTINCTION SPECIES

I have news regarding my novel EXTINCTION SPECIES (formerlyZombies, a Novel [the last time I will mention that] ).

I am about to start one last editing pass before I hire a professional editor. Exciting.

Epiphanies

I have started work on Epiphanies, using Snowflake Pro. Very exciting, and a feeling of déjà  vu here we go again as this story is even more complex than EXTINCTION SPECIES.

Oh well, no one to blame but me.

Other News

For the first time in eons, I have made style changes to my newsletter. In part, to reflect the additional scope of my writing.

Note that, as ConvertKit.com does not play nice with graphic standards incremental improvements are the most one can hope for.

I can remember thinking I should try a book by Eric Flint as I wandered the science fiction aisles in Chapters twenty-five-plus years ago.

I was recently reminded that he died in 2022, at 75.

So I bought The Course of Empire on my Kindle.

I was blown away.

Alien species that easily match Larry Niven's aliens as far as being like humans yet different. Great settings and amazing technology.

Marvelous stories for the whole trilogy, which could have easily been continued had he not died. Eric Flint was prolific, and there was much more story left to tell about the Jao.

I will try his other book(s), as my TBR pile allows.

All three Jao Empire series books are highly recommended.

One Thing

(Most useful Mac App ever)

"One Thing" puts one task (text string) in your menu bar as a constant reminder.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I have: Get your shit together. ...

As my feces is still scattered, there it (the task) sits in my menu bar. For two and a half months and counting.
